24-hour self-service city library

Services include: the application of the reader’s card, self-service lending and returning, search for the “all-purpose” card interconnected library information and stock condition, database search and electronic book lending.

1 The application for the reader’s card: citizens can apply for the reader’s card in the “self-service library” with valid second generation ID cards.

2 Self-service lending: readers with the “all-purpose” card valid for borrowing books can borrow books from the self-service library. 400 books can be borrowed in one machine with full capacity.

3 Self-service returning: readers can return books borrowed from the self-service library, the Capital Library of China (excluding children’s book) and with the “all-purpose” card. 800 books can be returned in one machine with full capacity.

4 OPAC search service: the “all-purpose” card interconnected library information and stock condition can be searched in the search machines.

5 Database search: readers can visit the website of Beijing public library computer information services network (http://www.bj-publib.net.cn) to search and use database resources.

6 Electronic book lending: readers can visit the website of Beijing public library computer information services network (http://www.bj-publib.net.cn) for the use of database resources to borrow, read and download the electronic books in the database. 10 books can be borrowed and downloaded.
